We have just released a new DIMES version - 0.4.3. It introduces a new web based Control Center and solves some known bugs. you can check it out in our download page.

We have just released new Linux and Mac versions, as well as an update for the Windows version. The new versions (0.4.2) include many bug fixes, as well as some new features. You can find them in our download page.

we would like to introduce the new DIMES t-shirts. You can see us model them in the about page. We will be giving away these shirts during our coming trip to the US. We are also working on a way by which we'll be able to send these shirts to our users, while conforming to the university's guidelines :).

The DIMES Internet Mapper, a tool for geographically visualizing the Internet topology, has just been released. Using DIM you can browse the connections between the cities of the world, as measured by DIMES. Many thanks to Google for their maps API.

The website is back where it belongs, after all communication issues were resolved (hopefully). Also, DIMES is now installed in all continents. Thanks everyone (especially the guy in Namibia who gave us presence in Africa).

Due to the unforeseen success of DIMES, we faced some communication problems in recent days that may have caused problems in accessing the website, registering new agents or slowing down network mapping by agents. It seems that we managed to solve the problems. We'd like to thank all our beta testers for helping us to clean our system out of bugs.

Hi All
The DIMES team is happy to announce that Java Network Stack v 1.1 is ready for downloading and testing.
JavaNetworkStack is a java API for building internet measurements such as ping and traceroute , using java. In the next version of our agent , it will be used to deploy new measurement modules.
Developers can download the zip from sourceforge or use sourceforge cvs.
As this is an open source project , we would be happy to have developers evaluate, comment and extend it , as it is in no way complete.
