astroplus 在 seti beta 那测试得差不多了，大概月底前会转移到 seti 中和现在的 multibeam 同时运行。

Astropulse has a natural place on SETI@home, since both SETI Enhanced and Astropulse is SETI@home-applications looking for signals from ExtraTerrestrial (ET) Civilizations. While SETI Enhanced looks for Narrow-bandwidth ET-signals, Astropulse will look for Wide-bandwidth ET-signals.

现在的 seti 是搜寻窄带宽信号，而 Astropulse 是搜寻宽带宽信号。 // 术语不保证正确。。。[em03]

Just like SETI Enhanced picks-up other signals than ET-signals, example Radars and other man-made signals, Astropulse will also detect other signals like Pulsars and Black holes. Since the probability of finding ET-signals is so low, the detection of these by-products of the SETI-search can give some useful Scientific results in other fields, while SETI still is at "ET not yet found".

就好比 seti 也会找到类似雷达等人造信号，Astropulse 可能会探测到像脉冲星或黑洞之类的信号，后者能够用于其它领域的科学研究。

据说前些时间的新版本减少了一半左右的任务包运行时间，但减少之后还是比较长，可能要在100小时左右。

Astropulse, the methods employed will actually give the true Pulse Frequency and true Power of the Pulse. The amount of data each User is given is longer 13.42 seconds of data. It will take a bit longer but is worth it in the long run. So whether it is ET or a Black Hole, a Pulsar or some new "thing" that has to be determined during analysis. Astropulse makes it easier to sort and say this is space noise, this is earth noise, this is a Pulsar, this is a Black Hole and "this one" we do not know what it is.

SETI官方网站上的future plans似乎进展情况都不错，一个就是 Astropulse ，还有一个是near time persistency checker，后者的作用主要是能够准实时的对用户计算出的可疑信号进行处理，而不是像现在这些定期比如半年对所有计算出的数据进行统一的分析处理。也许不久以后，官方网站上就会有每日更新的可疑信号列表了，还能看到都是哪些用户找到了这些信号。关于ntpchr，有篇05年的文章说得比较清楚：

Astropulse release soon

It looks like Astropulse will be released to the general public very soon. The fraction of erroring Astropulse results has dropped almost to the same level as for seti@home. The main task that remains for us is to ensure that Astropulse is only sent to fast computers, so that people aren't crunching the same workunit for 3-4 weeks. We will also allow users to choose to run only seti@home or only astropulse, although this may not be an option initially.

Astropulse 很快就要正式发布了，其任务包的出错率已经下降到了和目前seti@home相同的水平。接下来的主要任务是确保 Astropulse 任务包只发放给比较快的计算机，以免用户三四个星期都在算同一个任务包。。。我们也将允许用户选择只运行seti@home或只运行Astropulse，不过这在一开始可能还不行。

Astropulse beta will stay around, of course, as a testing ground for all new features and fixes that we add to Astropulse. There may well be problems after the release that will make further beta testing very important. Thanks for all your help that has made this possible, and I hope you continue with the beta project.

就等服务器修改app_info.xml方法出来……

Astropulse 的任务包我的已经接了好几天了，用四核的算，平均一个任务包要算70多小时，估计这种包是艾伦望远镜新的数据包

SETI@home和ATA没有关系，还是原来的数据，只是处理分析方法不同

昨天接了这个包 为什么我的本上显示都需要360个小时？

实际所需的时间可能要边计算才能变得更精确，但总的说来，ap的包是比之前mb的包要大不少
