Hello ~ I'm your friend from China, nice to meet you, my English is not good, please forgive me. I would like to ask you a question: my computer and your computer performance is similar to that of 3770K cpu, titan graphics, but why do the daily average of only 20,000? Is not AstroPulse v6 GPU computing in order to improve my score it? But I found difficult to obtain AstroPulse v6 GPU to the task, how to get to it? Please teach about me, thank you very much!
外国朋友回复的: Hello, Emma, I am very pleased to meet you and hope that we can be good friends! Your English is very good. I speak no Chinese at all, so it is I that must apologize to you.
You are correct that it is very difficult to obtain AP work units because there are much fewer of them, and everybody wants to have them.
You can set your S@H preferences on the BOINC site to:
Run only the selected applications SETI@home Enhanced: no
SETI@home v7: no
AstroPulse v6: yes
If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes
That way, AP's will have some priority over MB's, but you would still not be able to reach the maximum 100 AP's in your queue because BOINC will still be sending you MB's as well.
Are you familiar with the Server Status Page(SSL) at http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html ? If you look at the data under the Splitter Status Heading, the "total channels to do" for AP is 0, meaning that there are no AP's available right now. Also, you can see that there are approximately 200 Multibeams(MB) available. When the MB number comes down to approx. 100 or less, they will need to make more wu's available to keep the queues filled. That is when more AP's will be available. At that point, I change my settings to allow ONLY AP's to download - no more MB's. Since I still have MB's on my disk, I continue to process those wu's, while AP's slowly start to backfill my queue. It takes at least 24 hours for my queue to fill because BOINC only sends a few AP's at a time. When the AP "total channels to do" goes down to 0 (which usually takes only 3 or 4 days), I reset my preferences back to accept both AP's and MB's.
Getting the correct timing on this is critical for obtaining the maximum AP's - you would need to experiment to find what works best in your time zone and your personal schedule.
But I'm wondering about the errors in your results - have you solved the problem there? Also, it looks like you may not have all the settings tweaked in your app.info file to maximize your Titan, and also looks like you may only be processing one file at a time? I don't want to intrude on the way you prefer to run and I may be wrong about your settings - I just want to mention this in case you were not aware?
PS:外国朋友好热情啊!!真是受宠若惊~~有谁能精确的翻译下不?
