The daemons worked through the backlog last night, but turning on the scheduler this morning for a few hours brought the DB down again. Some of the problems have been identified and fixed or worked around, but we are still working on some issues. The project has been shut down again for some DB analyis runs, it will probably be up and down again a number of times today as we fix the remaining issues one by one.

在昨晚后台程序处理了所有的积压任务后，今早我们重新启动了调度服务程序，但这再次导致数据库服务器当机，导致故障的部分原因已经找到并采取了修复或回避处理，剩下的问题仍在解决过程中。项目当前仍然暂停服务，以对数据库做一些分析，在我们今天处理遗留问题的过程中，数据库服务器可能会反复启用或暂停。

We think we have found a simple fix for the database problems. The database has grown to 45 GB in size and has gotten too large for the physical memory of the machine that hosts it. However it turns out that due to some mistakes made in the project operations during the past weeks, about 80% of the work in the database is already completed. So we are running a db_purge task tonight that should remove this already-completed work from the database, leaving only the work-in-progress still in place in the database. If this is successful, then Einstein@Home should be back up and operating normally in about another 24 hours. Thank you for your patience!

我想我们已经找到数据库故障的修复办法了，数据库的数据文件大小已经增长到了45GB，超出机器的物理内存太多。但因为过去几个星期项目维护中的一些错误，数据库中80%的任务都是已经完成的。因此我们今晚做了db_purge操作以移除这些已经完成的任务，只留下正在处理的任务。如果这样能行的话，项目将在24小时内完全恢复正常，感谢大家的耐心：）

The database is still purging, at a rate of about 400,000 workunits per day. We expect that this process will be completed by about 06:00 UTC tomorrow. At that time, we will do some additional database maintenance (table optimization) and then restart the project. So in total about another 24 hours will still be needed to bring everything back to normal. Thanks again for your patience during this unfortunate and long outage.

预计还要再花一天的时间才能让一切恢复正常（正在进行需要进行的工作：数据库中无用数据的清理、数据表优化等等），感谢大家在这段时期的耐心等待：）

然后所有的管理人员都是义务劳动，无报酬，其实大家参加志愿计算也是一样的性质：）

The optimization of the workunit and result tables completed successfully.
We are now doing some index optimizations, which should take about two
hours.  Then we will bring the project back on-line.

We have completed the database maintenance and are restarting the Einstein@Home project. Hopefully this will go well, but please be patient as it may take some time before everything is working smoothly again. We are advancing the reporting deadlines for work in progress by 10 days, so that work already completed is not marked as unreturned. Because of the work on the database, contributors will NOT be able to see the status of work that was already completed in the past. However in the future, as before, contributors WILL be able to track this status. No contributor credits have been forgotten or lost.

数据库的维护工作已经完成，项目已经重新启动，希望一切都恢复正常，但这可能还需要一点时间，请保持耐心：）

The Einstein@Home project is finally back up and running properly. The binary radio pulsar search may not be sending out new work for a couple of more days while we fix some VPN problems between the WU generator in Hannover and the project database in Milwaukee. However the S5R5 gravitational-wave search IS sending out plenty of work. Many thanks again to our loyal volunteers and contributors for their patience!

项目已经恢复正常运行，ABP的任务最近几天还没有，因为我们还需要修复项目服务器和任务生成器之间的VPN连接，但S5R5的任务已经在大量分发了，非常感谢大家的耐心等候。

Over the weekend the VPN problems were fixed, so the Arecibo Binary Radio Pulsar search is now also running correctly and sending out new work. So Einstein@Home has completely recovered and is back in full operation again!

上个周末VPN的问题已经修复，因此ABP子项目又开始正常运行了，至此einstein@home整个项目也算是完全恢复正常啦~~

不容易啊.....上周搞得我好紧张,实验室里的机器7台中有两台没粮了,还好在第三台机器没粮前他们修复了. 估计这次这么一搞能挺个半年一年不出故障.

The results of the first Einstein@Home search of (early) S5 LIGO data  have been released on the arXiv.org e-print server.

简单看了下摘要部分的说明：灵敏度比S4提高了3倍（ This search extendsEinstein@Home's previous search in LIGO S4 data to about three times bettersensitivity），但仍未找到任何有价值的信号（No statistically significant signals were found. In the 125 Hz to225 Hz band, more than 90% of sources with dimensionless gravitational-wavestrain tensor amplitude greater than 3e-24 would have been detected.），继续努力吧~~~
