有关 Folding@Home 的 GPU 使用

期待Meditation的运算结果, 不知道和CPU比如何?

虽然程序在我那假冒的X1900上目前无法保留GPU运算后的结果,但看它的Step数,一般几十秒就差不多2500 Steps了,这相当于2个Frames了,我那2.75G 的单个E6300的核心3个Frame需要大约几十分钟吧。

呵呵,应该说初始化过程可能都没有完成,因为一直显示Waiting for core,还是让真正的X1900来试吧,国庆刚弄个了Philips 9@9t只好再忍忍过些时间败X1900XT了。

請問要如何設定啊

我下了FAH5.05beta1-GUI-ATI.zip
用6.9 驅動
有1900XTX
但是一執行winFAH-ati-b1.exe
就出現錯誤
說是 winFAH-ati-b1.exe 以及  atioglxx.dll 錯誤

請問要怎樣設定

目前系統是MCE 測試時用550PRO錄影中

使用 FAH5.05beta1-GUI.exe 也是有問題
無法持續working 會一直輪番出現 Attempting to get work packet
Closed connections
不知道是否是剛好無法下載數據
至少沒出現系統提是錯誤

終於

換了6.10的驅動 FAH5.05beta1-GUI-ATI 可以執行了
一看DISPLAY 就看到一堆球黏在一起扭動
顯示卡時脈沒上升
溫度上升10度左右
Waiting for core 平均每秒跳300-500(目測)
基數是25000000
CPU還是50%左右 (E6300 OC 2.8G)
基於溫度變化 應該真的有用到GPU 說
不過顯示畫面比以往單調 一般視窗明顯遲鈍
DISPLAY DRAW RATE 控制幾乎沒用
Visualization type 控制項失效
預設是BALL&Stick 但實際畫面卻是Spacefill
改為Spacefill  畫面變成全部是淺藍色的分支棒狀 比較醜 也會使視窗變的更慢
也容易造成程式自動關閉
發現可以用滑鼠左鍵改變顯示角度 只是畫面更新太慢 沒有一般3D場景的感覺


已經計算過的資料 好像無法儲存
之前算了十幾萬 重開又重 0 開始
不知道目前測試用的計算 是真實需要算的數據嗎
還是只是純測試用


總結
雖然DISPLAY 有效率以及設定上的問題
但好處是 可以看到連貫的動作了
(在預設模式下 每秒4張左右 可以明顯觀察到光影 位移的變化)
實際運算速度應該加快很多
只是我是新手 接觸才沒5天
不知道快多少

請問計算這些分子扭來扭去有啥意義
巧高手解說一下

剛剛看了站友 szterry 發的 索尼PS3將加入Folding@Home分佈式計算計劃
為何SONY 使用的介面這樣華麗漂亮
資訊也非常多樣且清楚
反觀ATI GPU的
只出現 Donator ; Team Number ; Finished WUs ; Waitingfor core
以及左下角的Working 就沒了
畫面也只有Spacefill正常
也會拖慢視窗速度(不管有沒有觀看Display)
程式又容易當掉(這點因為是BETA版 所以將就一下)

不過2500萬的基數比1000萬的基數 高很多
不知道是否可以解釋為 目前的顯示卡比CELL 運算能力強很多

發現一個重大問題
就是玩遊戲時一定要先關閉Folding@Home
不然Folding@Home 一定會出現錯誤訊息
如果是使用GPU版本的話
這點一定要列入重大改進項目

这个Core就是利用了GPU强大的性能来加速Folding的计算过程,目前GPU驱动资源调度还不像CPU,所以当管线内充满Folding的数据时,一般是无法再初始化一些游戏的了。

另外,Folding Community那边似乎不太赞同X1600 X1800等强制安装为X1900来开启GPU-Client的做法,一是运算过程会不太稳定,二是结果对于这次beta版本的测试不太有利。所以希望各位还是拿真正的X1900来算吧,等Stanford推出了针对X1000全系列的Client再帮测试了。

不用担心,虽然每次都会显示一个Completed 0,但当Core真的计算出了结果还是会接上面的进度记录的,过一会儿你还是会看到Completed 12之类的。
