BOINC上面的项目多了不少。不过可能很难撼动那些主流项目吧。

嗯，要成为主流，要不探索的主题本身就已经有足够大的吸引力比如seti或einstein，或者除了研究内容有意义而且背后有一个非常积极向上的项目组如rosetta，或者项目有比较大的现实意义如cpdn，要不有ibm那样的后台如wcg：）

I've persuaded myself that version 0.9 of the application is robust enough for public release. Please continue to report any bugs you encounter, but what we seem to be seeing at the moment are client problems or server side daemon problems. So things are about to go quiet from me for a couple of weeks. I'll be working behind the scenes on changes which should be mostly transparent to testers.

The server back end components are now finished. We'll be conducting a load test on Friday 6th July - see number crunching message board for details. If there aren't too many problems with the load test, we'll be going public some time over the weekend. Thanks everyone for all of your help over the last couple of months.

The server status page has been updated so that you can see the server performance on an hourly basis during the test. Hopefully we'll be breaking some project records.

By the way, happy Independence day to our American testers!

第一个上报期限只有24小时呀！！！

突然在想，是不是Folding不愿意加入Boinc，也有不希望自己的参与者在boinc平台下转向其他的项目，而导致自己项目的计算能力流失？不过不知道WCG的人是怎么想的。不知道WCG和Folding的做法究竟是谁的对呢。

如果给予新项目一定的积分奖励，比如，在正式开始的最初的一个月内，新项目的参与者所得到的分数将是WU分数的120%，即得到20%的对踊跃参与新项目者的奖励。
还有，参与人数最少的三个或五个项目，可以考虑对其参与者实施与上述方式类似的积分奖励。
因为，虽然分数不是最重要的，以兴趣优先，自愿参加为原则，但还是有很多人会追求高积分及主流的项目。
所以，BOINC放任不管的话，对BOINC下新项目的扩充、发展，恐怕都会有影响。
（瞎喊几句，呵呵，站着说话不嫌腰疼，反正BOINC的人也听不见。）

fah我估计主要是自己的平台已经足够成熟，但你说的很可能也是原因之一

wcg加入boinc最早应该是因为ud的平台不能在linux下面跑吧

积分的相对高低对项目的冷热程序应该是有一定影响，但我想绝大部分人应该还是兴趣优先吧：）

屏保也能对参与者的兴趣产生影响啊。
虽然我不开屏保，不过没事的时候还是会去看一看。
可是似乎很多项目都没有屏保，呵呵。

We're now back up after a break of a couple of weeks. Apologies for the loss of connectivity. I needed physical access to the server to correct the problem we've been experiencing, and have just got back from Germany.
