FAT or NTFS？

如果装系统的时候用FAT
然后装好后转换成NTFS
可能有什么不良影响？

回需要硬碟重组。(is that the right term for defrag?)除此之外没有坏处。系统会更稳定。
就我所知，ntfs在2GB以上的硬碟比FAT32快，浪费也少。并且有journaling和更好的保密措施。
比较麻烦的是linux和windows 9x/me不支援ntfs。但是已经有windows9x/me的第三者驱动软件。
linux下的驱动软件快要完成了，已经在beta中，基本稳定。
DOS/windows 9x/me的开机片会读不出ntfs，但是可以用ntfs reader for DOS是免费的。只能读不能写。下载：http://www.ntfs.com/products.htm
可以写ntfs的驱动软件要钱：http://www.inuit.se/products/winternals/ntfsdospro/

hard disk in mainland chinese is 硬盘，in taiwan or hk it might be 硬碟

与最初就使用 NIFS 进行格式化的卷相比，从 FAT 转换为 NTFS 的卷会缺少部分性能。在转换后的卷上，MFT 可能会变得破碎。另外，转换后的启动卷上的 NTFS 权限不再适用。

我可以看中文也可以大中文。不过打得比较慢就是了。
windows XP 真好，win2k就麻烦大了。
