We have some news on the EUE issues with some of these WUs. It looks like our check was being too strict and terminating the GPU calculation. In general, we tend to be very strict and almost paranoid about GPU results, since running on GPU's is really quite bleeding edge. However, in this case, we think the GPU calculation was correct, but our check was being too strict. We're loosening the check and rolling out a new core.
The idea with strict checks is that it's better to stop a calculation which could give misleading results than just let it go. However, one needs a balance here and we may find other areas that need rebalancing as the GPU2 core gets rolled out into new and different protein systems.
Scott Legrand has been putting a lot of effort into looking for the cause of the temperature issue and we'll post more updates as we get more info. Our plan is to come up with some way to keep the temperatures under control one way or another.
