又是一个预测蛋白质结构的项目...现在德国的项目也不少了,哎,枉我泱泱大国。

POEM@HOME implements a novel approach to understand these aspects of protein structure, which lends itself very well to worldwide distributed computing. The scientific approach behind POEM@HOME is a computational realization of the thermodynamic hypothesis that won C. B. Anfinsen the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1972.

POEM@HOME is a purely academic, non-profit projects to improve our understanding of biomolecular structure and function. All substantial result of POEM@HOME will be published in international peer reviewed journals with proper credit to the POEM@HOME volunteers.

我剛才進來之前以為是用分布式寫詩哩。。。進來才知道是算蛋白質的。。。

怎么樣? 內存,限時,包長,得分?

賽揚1000MHZ,表現比較差。。
這么說吧。。POEM這個包,大致相當于一個SETI包的1/13的運行時間,得分速率約是SETI的0.62倍,無屏保,占30M內存,限時7天。

Welcome to our project! Right now the project is in testing stages, the project application works under windows (2000 and above recommended) and linux (2.6.4 and above recommended).
In the near future you can expect a new webdesign (including Stats and Server Status on the Frontpage), a small screensaver app (rendering the protein) and checkpointing.

目前仍在测试阶段,提供有windows/linux平台的计算程序。不久后将会重新设计网站,提供屏保程序和计算过程的进度储存。

We have implemented a fixed credit system, so that everyone gets the same credit for the same workunits. The current batch of (dynamic credit) workunits should run out in a few hours. To even out Windows and Linux hosts, we also released a new Windows client.

我们已经实现了固定积分系统,这样对于同样的任务包,所有用户得到的积分都将是相同的。项目目前的任务应该在几小时内完成。

The boinc server software will go down today for backups. This shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes. Tomorrow there will be a complete server move, so everything, even the website and also the forum will be down for about 2 hours.

服务器将停机备份,时间不会超过20分钟。明天将进行服务器的完全迁移,因此整个项目将暂停大概两小时。

First of all to state the obvious: We have a new webdesign^^. Apart from that we rolled out new applications for Windows and Linux on Friday, which implement checkpointing, so now you can stop and resume our workunits and don't need to finish them in one batch. However good news always come with bad news: The downtime from the 31. was postponed to today or tomorrow, so don't worry, if POEM@HOME is down for a few hours.

POEM@HOME is down at the moment and will also be down at least for the next hour. Our result directory has already become quite big, so we're moving it. While this is happening, no new results can be sorted in. Edit: We are up and running again!

停机一小段时间。计算结果目录已经比较大,因此我们正在把它搬走。操作完成前,新的计算结果将无法写入。

The server revision was upgraded to the newest BOINC revision today. There are some errors concerning the charset still, so umlauts aren't displayed correctly in the forums.

今天服务器的软件升级到了最新的BOINC版本。但仍有一些字符集方面的问题,导致论坛里的一些字符无法正确显示。

The assimilator is working again and the current workunit queue should be working normally. If you have a data_107 workunit in your queue at the moment, please abort it, as it will end in a computation error otherwise. We are sorry, that those workunits got out - when the assimilator broke down, we wanted to fill the void and there was an error in the job submission.

任务回收程序已经恢复运行,当前的任务队列应该可以正常工作了。如果你的计算队列中还有data_107任务包,请手动中止掉,因为它会导致计算错误。为此我们非常抱歉。

Apart from a server upgrade today (to Revision 14319), there was a change to the assimilator, which enables us to do transparent output file compression. There will also be new POEM@HOME executables for Windows and Linux, which utilize this compression. So from today onwards, the bandwidth usage of POEM@HOME should be reduced.

服务端软件版本更新,其中对任务回收程序的一处改动,使得我们可以自动对计算的结果文件进行压缩,项目的计算程序也相应更新,从今天开始,项目的网络带宽使用将减少。

貌似最近给分比较多...几乎都是申请分的两倍左右。

May 5, 2008 - CASP8 starting

CASP8 is approaching and POEM@HOME is participating. The first targets are expected to be released tomorrow. Once the first CASP related workunits are out, the normal workunit count will be decreased to put more importance to the CASP related once.

German: Morgen werden die ersten Targets zum CASP8-Proteinstrukturvorhersage Wettbewerb veröffentlicht, an welchem POEM@HOME mit vereinten CPU-Kräften teilnehmen wird. Sobald die ersten CASP-Workunits präpariert sind, werden die normalen Workunits etwas zurückgefahren, um schnell genug an Resultate für den Wettbewerb zu kommen.

CASP8要开始了,不知道另外几个蛋白质结构预测的项目有没有参加。。。

Due to the humongous computing time we got, thanks to your support, our involvement in CASP is nearing its end.
On the CASP side of things the last Human/Server Targets are released and only few server-only targets are expected before the end of the release season on the 22nd - the last workunits will therefore be crunched not later, than the 31st.

Today the last two Quality Assessment workunits for CASP will be finished. The only remaining CASP workunits then will be three refinement jobs, two of which will be finished on the fourth, with the final one running until the seventh.
Thanks to your support, something could be submitted for all targets. No announcement was made, as to when the targets will actually be evaluated by the CASP team; however we are quite certain an announcement will be made soon.

所有CASP的任务应该在7号左右全部完成,感觉大家的支持,最终的结果应该很快就会公布了。

The results of the official CASP8 assessors are out and available at the predictioncenter website.
Overall we are very satisfied with how POEM@HOME did in the assessment. Check the forums for discussion for some more information. Thank you for making the participation in this assessment a possibility.

CASP8的结果已经公布,总体说来项目方对POEM@HOME的表现非常满意,更多情况请见论坛中的相关讨论,感谢大家的参与!

POEM@HOME 的 CASP 9 正式开始。

第一个CASP 任务是 T517 目标,试图与 POME@HOME 找出蛋白质的一部分(一种三螺旋束)并合并使用另外一部分创建同源信息。

继 CASP 439 计划模拟三螺旋的 T517 目标后,现在 CASP 440 最大限度的放宽了整个模型的挑选。

CASP 9 T531 看起来像是一个成功的模型。当然预测是否正确要等 CASP 之后才知道。

接下来的工作,今晚或明天早上将开始第一个真正 T531 目标,现在正为其生成模型,还有 CASP 441 的工作,以确定哪些是最积极可行的模型。
