We finally, after many tests and simulations, have found out that some new part of the Charmm code that has been changed recently has introduced a rather significant error. We are fixing this problem. In the meanwhile the server is down.

Today and tonight we are testing our bugfixes on many platforms, clean the database of faulty unsend wu's and will open up the system again tomorrow morning if the tests were successfull. We'll keep you up to date on what's happening.

We are working through our backlog of unvalidated workunits right now to make sure all of your earned credits are granted. After this exercise (which shouldn't take more than 2 hours or so) we'll open up again.

The system is open again and we are submitting wu targets ct0200 (Charmm) and t0243, t0247 (MFold). The minimum boinc client version required is 3.20 (please upgrade asap if you haven't sone so yet). Detailed update can be found Here.

We are currently experiencing an extreme slowdown of the server due to the amount of request we get of all the hosts that were previously out of work. The submission process is trying to keep up with these requests and seems to be managing this, but barely. We think that it will need a couple of hours (possibly the whole night) for this situation to balance out again. The website is also very slow because of this, but still working. Thanks for your patience, the P@H team.

The system cannot keep up with the generation of new WUS because of the high number of clients. We will close the distribution of new WUs for a couple of hours to allow the system to recover. We continue uploading results.

We have enabled the fastcgi component in the scheduler and upgraded all boinc server daemons to 3.20. This should improve the performance quite a bit. If the system stays stable for a while, we'll open up account creation again. Thanks!

We had a problem with the network in out building. We were isolated from the rest of the world for a couple of hours today morning beteween 8:30PST and 10:20PST. Predictor was not reachable during this time. The Problem has been fixed now and P@H is distributing WUS.

If you observe cases in which the BOINC client runs charmm using mfold input files or vicevers, please send us the client_state.xml to boinc AT scripps.edu but do not post it in the forum. Input files for mfold should start with t0xxx while input files for charmm start with ct0xxx. We are currently working with the BOINC dev team to fix the problem. Thanks.

如果你发现BOINC客户端使用mfold输入文件运行charmm或其它此方面漏洞，请把boinc的脚本client_state.xml发给scripps.edu，但不要发在论坛里。mfold的输入文件以t0xxx开头，charmm以ct0xxx开头。我们正在和BOINC开发小组一起解决这个问题。谢谢。

The network problems today have created a high load condition on the P@H server. We are working to recover the server performance. In the meanwhile we have stopped the WUs distribution but we are continuing the upload.

We're back online. Sorry we have been gone for a while again, but we have upgraded the boinc server to the latest version 3.21 which is supposed to give us a big performance boost. At the moment the system is running again and we are submitting work! More details will follow later in the CS updates.

We have been forced to cancel the workunit and result tables and restart from scratch the submission of WUs. For those of you who are concerned about the pending credits, we will look for a possible solution to assign you them asap.

We are distributing WUs and at the same time working on the server to improve its stability. This could cause some temporary interruption of the distribution or the server connectivity in the next 12 hours. For a detailed description of the P@H status please look at Current Progress.

IMPORTANT: please reset your project if you have still old WUs on your machines: as reported in Current Progress, we have been forced to remove the result and workunit tables and restart from scratch the submission of new WUs. All the result arrived until today have been stored and used. Some pending credit need to be fixed: we will take care of this asap. Sorry for the inconvenience.
