存盘点已经能够正常工作， 对结核杆菌的内部测试已经完成，一周之类发送任务，而且是对于真实基因组的任务，不是测试数据

Finally an update -- checkpointing working in the application
So I didn't want to send out any workunits until I got checkpointing working, and good news after a couple long weeks and not to mention slamming my head against my computer a few times, the DNA@Home client application has working checkpointing.
This means we should have workunits being sent out within a week or so. We've also gotten the data we need for the Mycobacterium tuberculosis genome, so the first workunits will be doing work on a real genome as opposed to test data.
Expect updates more frequently now that I finally have something working.

一周内发布任务

Another update -- workunits this week
For real this time. We were having some problems getting the checkpoints and results down to a manageable size. For a real data set (tuberculosis) they were running over 50 mb each. I think we've found a solution so we should really be able to start crunching this week.

another update
So I've fixed a lot of the checkpointing issues. Working some magic, I've gotten the initial (stupid) checkpoint from 50mb down to a 200kb binary file. As the checkpoint is also a major part of the result being sent back, this is really good news because we'll be able to save a lot of information server side, and not clog up your hard drives.
I'm going to try and have OS X and linux applications compiled and some workunits available tonight. Then I need to figure out how to compile the application on windows. Thanks to everyone still hanging on in there.

updated the linux apps to 0.04
Looks like the linux binaries weren't statically linked which was causing at least one person some problems. 0.04 is statically linked which should fix this. 18 Oct 2010 21:01:35 UTC

I've added the first new batch of workunits. Sadly it looks like my one machine grabbed them all. I'm going to add some more and then work on getting the Linux (and then Windows) binaries available.

Here's an update. I'm having some rather major problems getting the windows application to return the same results as the linux/osx applications and it's looking like I'm going to have to do more than a bit of a code-rewrite.

updated web and server code

new deadline 36 hours and max wus in progress
I've raised the deadline to 36 hours, so the project plays a bit more nicely with others, but I've dropped the max wus in progress to 2 (from 3) so more WUs get spread around to various hosts which should help test how well the application is working. 31 Mar 2011 | 18:48:49 UTC · 评论

merging projects
Hi Everyone,

Here's an update to the status of DNA@Home.

Currently, I have a student who has been working on getting files in the appropriate format for the application here. I think we're pretty close to getting work units sent back out. As opposed to what we were doing before, the new data files are from the human genome, and we'll be looking for protein binding sites that could potentially be related to different cancer causing genes -- I will get more information from this from our biologists here.

I also want to merge DNA@Home, Wildlife@Home and SubsetSum@Home so I can more easily provide feedback. I'm open to suggestions on how to do this. Right now I'm thinking about moving all the accounts into a new project and then have a combined forum for all three. If anyone has any good suggestions for an easy way to merge the three, I'd appreciate it.

Will have more updates, and hopefully more work units soon.
