Pi Symbol Join PiHex

PiHex is now finished, so this page is rather irrelevant. I'm leaving it up here in case anyone wants to see what it used to look like.

If you have a Pentium or faster computer, and you are running Windows 95, 98 or NT, and you are not running any other distributed computing project already, please donate your spare CPU cycles! PiHex runs in the background at idle priority, meaning that it will only use time slices that no other program wants, so it will not slow down your computer, and it uses under 100K of memory and a comparable amount of disk space, so it should not put too severe a strain on your computer's resources ;-).

All you need to do is download PiHex, unzip it, and run it; once you provide it with the necessary information, it should run without assistance (and communicate automatically) with a network or dialup connection.

If you do not have any sort of network or dialup connection, you can still run PiHex via sneakernet (ie, carry files around on a disk). To communicate with the server you will have to use the manual communication page.
