The Einstein@Home project was down for the last few days because of the continuing fileserver problems. Another server has been put in place for the primary fileserver and we hope this temporary solution will be stable.

Einstein@Home项目因为文件服务器老出问题，宕了几天。买了台新主文件服务器，希望籍此能暂时解决稳定性问题。

A couple of days ago Einstein@Home issued the last workunits from our first search of LIGO S5 data. The post-processing of these results will begin in a few weeks when the last result from these workunits is returned. Meanwhile we are gearing up to begin a new type of more sensitive search (called a hierarchical search). Unfortunately this is not yet ready. In the meantime we are extending the first S5 search to a larger range of spin-down ages than previously. We apologize for some problems that occured in the last few days as we finished one search and started another. We are still coping with some hardware problems, which complicated the transition. 几天前我们已经发布了项目S5阶段的最后一批任务包。所有的结果将在几个星期后进行后期处理。目前我们正在加紧开发一种新类型的更灵敏的搜索算法（继承搜索？），但因为该算法目前还未最终完成，所以我们先对S5进行了部分扩展（就是目前的S5RI任务包）。对于之前过渡阶段发生的服务器故障我们深感抱歉，相关的硬件问题目前还在解决过程中。更多细节请看项目留言板中的这个主题：

The Einstein@Home project was offline today due to a server crash. There was a kernel panic on fileserver that is unrelated to previous problems we have had with the fileservers.

服务器再次因故障导致停机，而且其产生原因与之前的文件系统故障并无关系。

The database problems have been identified but in order to correct them some modifications will be needed on the Einstein@Home back-end components. To effect these modifications, the project will have to be repeatedly taken up and down today. So please be warned: we will have frequent and unscheduled service interruptions while we work on this today.

Some details of the upcomig S5R2 run can be found in this message board thread. In particular dial-up / modem users might not find this project suitable any longer during the last days of S5RI and S5R2.

关于即将到来的S5R2，请阅读论坛中的这个帖子，尤其要注意的是，拨号上网的用户可能不再适合参加本项目的S5R2阶段（以及S5RI的最后几天），因为新阶段初始需要下载的文件量将超过40M，另外，S5R2可能运行的时间不会太长，主要目的应该是测试并改进新的算法。
